Time Machine

This integration connects Lapse with Hack Club to create timelapses of your projects using programs within the Hack Club ecosystem. The primary purpose of this is to serve as a companion to the Lapse project, making it easy to create timelapses of your projects. Not just coding, but anything you build, design, craft, or create.

Polishing

image

I edited some mistakes, I changed some bad tolerances, for example, and added a mic jack hole

image

TS like 30 mins

I also made the wiring diagram

image

like 45 mins

I made my BOM. CSV

image

Like 3-4 hours

Took me a bunch of time

I made my readme

image

Like 2 hours

Took me more time

I made my repo and added the files, didnt take me much time prob like an hour bc of weird gerber stuff

Made Camera Mount

This look me a while ...

I was trying to figure out how exactly everything should be looking like, athought this was optimal.

image

I made a sketch showing my contraints

image

45 degrees bc i dont think more overhang is optimal

image

based off that everythign was built

image

the goal here is to maintain flexibility

image

The main goal with this entire model was no overhangs

Designing CAD

I imported files and assemmbed it:

image

I then Made the CAD of the battery

image

this feels problomatic, size of the battery VS size of PCB

image

Im confuzzled on how to get started, so for now im ignoring the battery and doing the case

2+5+5+0.3

image

I made sure nothing will ever overlap, and theres wire paths for everything fort the bottom wiring stuff

Routed the PCB :D Again, with new display

Oh my goodness

OK so basically

First, I did all the wiring for the TFT, and I deleted it yay

I redid it, better this time, and then talked to the goats Kai and Max I love yall

LOOK AT THIS IM SO HAPPY AHHH

image

I did the stitching via script :D so peakkkkk and I learned what it is omg im so escatic im fnally done FAHHH

More display wiring

Rโ‰ˆ(5.0-3.2)V/0.03โ‰ˆ60ฮฉ

For safety ill go with 68 ohms

NVM im going for 62
image

image

HOOLY shit that took a while ok so im using mosfet to control backlight

The Tie is because they are duplicates

image

I also reorganized stuff yay

I did research and since this should be on for long periods of time

Tanuki Tanuki โšก๐Ÿš€ added to the journal ago

Display stuff

image

Not entiresly sure why this took so long,. I was doing research into sprig and realised its prob better if I choose a different one. The actual wirintg and values to chose confused me, mayeb thats a part of it

Polished PCB

I added art!

image

I also labeled every singla part with its value.

image

image

Im still working on this though, imo it still doesn't look the greatest. I might have to change the LCD unfortuinaly

Tanuki Tanuki โšก๐Ÿš€ added to the journal ago

Routed the PCB :D

I routed the pcb! I started by doing the short parts, then the longer parts, then making a ground plane.

image

image

Im going to be making my logo now :DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

I finished the BOM and PCB Layout

I made a BOM. I switched from Digikey to LCSC and got MUCH better prices, components are now just about 15 ish.

I also used and learned EasyEda2KiCad to import EasyEDA footprints :D they dont have courtyards though

image

I also then laied out my schematic. I tried to get all power components as close to the top as possible.

My goal was to group everything.

Made two footprints that i didnt even use, sourced some part

0.1 uF (https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/kemet/C324C103K2R5TA7334/12700613 for bulk, https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/lumimax-optoelectronic-technology/MC2-0603B103M500BF3/16735090 for 10)

100 nF (0.1 ยตF) 1 (C1) + 4 (C14โ€“C18) = 5, https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/vishay-beyschlag-draloric-bc-components/K104K15X7RF53L2/2820506, 1.25(.255)
1 ยตF 2 (C2,C6) + 2 (C13,C16) = 4 (https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/lumimax-optoelectronic-technology/AEC1M50V0511/18099831, (0.16)
100 pF 2 (C3,C7) = 2, (https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/kemet/C315C101J1G5TA7303/18118173 if bulk https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/kemet/C315C101J1G5TA/3726115 = .4
2=0.80)
4.7 ยตF 2 (C4,C5) = 2
33 nF 2 (C10,C12) = 2
10 ยตF 2 (C11,C19) = 2

blah blah ignore im making a footprint for ts

I made image

and

image

but it was a waste, it turns out they alr had stuff
image

bye bye big cool mic thing, hi lame module

image

FML finished schematic again

Sucken Cost Fallacy

https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256809556519324.html

Battery

https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256809625867571.html

Type C Connector

Initially I was going to use these connected to the RPI Hat, now I understand ive been overcomplicating it :pf:

I think I wont fall for the sucken cost fallacy and delete most of my work (related to the battery)

Bye bye gng

image

(fyi some of it was very innacurate and not needed, if ur wondering why theres a crystal lol)

Fixed everything... shit didnt save

image

shit did NOT save :sob:

redid stuff, realized I had backups, then I swapped the LCD with the sprig OLED

TBH I'm backlogging this a ton, forgor to journal

HOLY SHIT its been a while

I addded:

  • dual mics: why not, same GPIO usage
  • EEPROM
  • Fixed Display
  • Decoupling
  • Incomplete MAX17048
  • Dual LiPo (3.7*2=7.4)

PCB messing

image

image

Just messed with PCB cutout shape lol, ngl pretty unproductive, was just seeing ho wI should Layout everything and stuff. on the tiop right, ill likely hav e silkart. Im repalcin gthe dsiplay w the bigger one previously discussed maybe

Tanuki Tanuki โšก๐Ÿš€ added to the journal ago

Didnt do much but talked alot and refined PCB

I took a lot of feedback again and tried to make sure that the PCB is perfect. I think I spent abt 2.5 h but I'm self deflating to 1.5 hour. Im a little confused still but iz fine ig, I understand a lot more now.

Fixed PCB errors

I talked to someone for a couple hours to help me,

  1. Added parrelel capacitors
  2. Added PWR_Flag
  3. Added no connection
  4. Edited the schematic so some of them are passive, not power input

ERC is how happy yay

Defined goals and made base prototype

I want a device that record me as I work

  1. Input with a screen and rpi cam with an rpi, generic idea

Input: Rotatory encoder EC11

RPI: RPI 02W

Input: Rotatory encoder EC11

Screen: 12864A 128*64 Lcd Display

RPI Camera 3

And a PCB to make it more clean cuz why not and ya thats it :)
