Custom Minecraft USB Hub
This is my 2nd project for Blueprint, and my 3rd project on PCBs. I'm going to try and customize the HackClub Jam tutorial of the USB hub especially as I need one so badly. If possible I'll change the design so it's 3 or 4 extra ports than just 2!

Please add the .epro file for your PCB into the repository as well as it would be nice if you could have a fully assembled cad model of your case and PCB.

On tinkercad + DONE!!
Im back, and have done a bunch in my opinion. I've come back to tkintercad after like soooo long, and its so different now I think that I knew nothing. Well, i figured out how to extrude inwards and finally made a hole! heres what I got so far.

Nice right?
I made it be the perfect fitting for the PCB. Though, Idk how I'm meant to fit the PCB inside. I have put holes in my PCB for screws of sort so idk we gotta figure that out. but for now imma just make the basic skeleton for all the holes and then how I can make everything connect.(10:57am)
Oh btw. I added this cute happy ghast image on my PCB:
I was doing that when I realised, that the LEDs I'm using in my PCB are out of stock. So I changed em and updated my PCB:
I redid the tkinkercad aswell so there is a solid opening for the PCB to be placed inside. Now I gotta figure out how to add screw driver-able screw thingos or some kind of connectors to keep everything in place.
I've done soo much. I'm actual locked in!. I made the spot for the PCB to go and the hole for the USB
I made a slide in out sorta thing for the PCB to sit on, just to make the assembly easier. Now I just needs add the holes for the thingos(45mins)
I did the holes for the other usbs, the three at the bottom

Now imma just make a few cylendrical shapes that can fit into the holes of the PCB which I can super glue on the day :D
I made em:
Now u may be wondering what those things are at the bottom, well they are for the ghast's legs.
lemme reshape/resize everything else ASAP.
And IM DONE!!!!

Finalizing my PCB + Beginning the FUN STUFF
Ok, I've made my PCB and now ill real quick just make the edges...
Schematic:

3D:

Ok fun stuff. That was like 5 mins to make sure the edges were right. Time done: (5mins). Ill be back tomorrow to figure out the cad and how I order everything. Whether I order right now or first ship this project with everything. Throughout the night Imma be thinking about what custom Minecraft mob I should make. Rn, I'm leaning towards a ghast cuz of the legs at the bottom. WAIT. HAPPY GHAST....... THAT MIGHT BE THE STRAT. Ok look.

Ill 3d print the happy ghast by first 3d modelling it. That will be my first real 3d printing project with no tutorial so wish me luck! I'll be back tomorrow.
Today I couldn't do much. Plan for tomorrow:
Start a new Onshape project
Make the basic outline for the 3d model
make the holes for usb's and screw attachable places
Submit this journal
K GN.
Ok its been a bit. Uhm. I kinda just had a bunch of tests and the PSAT and stuff. So yeah its been a hot minute. But I'm back and its time for CAD... (8 am)
Its time for the CAD. I'm new to Onshape so wish me Luck!
(8:30am) Uhhhhh, Onshape is kinda hard tbh. It took me 30 mins to figure out how to make this:

Its time to use sum tutorials ig...BRB
Ok Onshape is too hard. I'm gonna go to tinkercad!
I Downloaded a happy ghast STL file and now I need to make to be able to fit a PCB inside it. I will do this on next journal

Converted and Began Routing PCB
5:11pm - I just converted my schematic to a pcb

Time to Route everything!!!!
Okay, its 5:58 now and this is why I've got! Just a few more ratlines remain.

I think I got this. Oh and also, I found out why my PCB Hacker Card didn't work when I ordered it... I hadn't routed the wires and just left the rat lines as they were thinking they were wires. Uhm. So I just have like 5 PCB cards that do absolutely nothing. Um. If anyone knows how I could maybe solder the wires in or get a refund if possible. Reach out to me plz. I also learnt smth new now. I learnt how to implement the back of the PCB's for wiring. I was just tryna add wires at the back but now I understand I have to first use the "Via" part. Ok back to work. Gotta finish the rest of the ratlines by using the back. And GUESS who just learnt how? Exactly. Ok I'll be back once done.
Its 6:38Pm and I've finished Routing!!!!

Now tomorrow I will begin the cad and also before that I will also change the shape of the PCB for my custom Minecraft Hub holder. I have a few ideas and I will decide ASAP. That's it for today!

Gonna Start with the LED's
Alrighty, I'm back. 8:52am
Ok its 9:45am now and I've made some progress. I have taken forever, asking a bunch of people how to do it because I didn't understand it too much but now have been able to get one LED down. The main power led has been implemented!!!!!
At least I hope it works. I will still keep on going. I need the other three LED's done today so I can start designing the PCB then finally doing the fun stuff. The 3d modelling for the case!
Back to work!
Its 9:51am, not too far forward than before but I just tried to do the 3 LED's. I will ask someone to check it but for now this is all I can do. I just winged it a little using my prior knowledge from what I have learnt with the first led. Ok wish me luck. Heres how it looks now.

I realized I need to change more things...
Okay so, I realized that I must add something else. So I'm going to add an LED to know what the USB hub is powered. I started researching how to incorporate that into my design and will try to ask blueprint support soon. I have basketball now so I gtg, but I'll be back. (mins of research to no avail)
Okay, I asked Chatgpt for how I can incorporate 1 LED into the USB hub to see if its working. But then I had the craziest idea. I'm not kidding, I might be the next Einstein or smth. So my idea is that in total I add four LED's:
One LED to see whether the USB Hub is powered
Three LED's for each USB connection to know which connections are powered and which are not
I'm so hyped right now... (30 mins doing research trying to figure out how this would work)
Kinda Like this:

I will start incorporating in next journal :D.

I began routing the PCB for the USB hub.
I started up a new project on EasyEDA and just thought to start making something that I need. Then I remembered seeing the HackClub USB hub jam and decided that as my first project I want to start off simple, just to learn the basics.
So I began and it took longer than what it might take for others, but it took me about an hour to an hour and a half to do what the first part of the tutorial told me, plus adding one more USB segment.

This is how much I've been able to do.
