WingGlobe - Autonomous Weather-Telling Snow Globe!
ENTRY FOR BLUEPRINT CHRISTMAS COMPETITION! REVIEWER NOTES AT BOTTOM OF README! WingGlobe is a themable snow globe with a custom propulsion mechanism, PWM control, backlighting, and (MOST IMPORTANTLY) the ability to adjust based on the current weather (yellow-orange gradiating LEDs if sun, light blue gradiating LEDs for light rain, dark blue gradiating LEDs for heavy rain, and a PWM-powered fan that blows around "snow" beads based on wind levels outside). Will Feature Custom Artwork and an e-ink display for displaying temperature/humidity/pressure information derived from an onboard sensor and up to three other linked sensors (fully compatible with my SmartBell which also includes a temperature sensor and is intended for outdoor use).

Adjusted Snow Globe Diameter
Unfortunately, the sent snow globe was not, in fact, 42mm in hole diameter; I had to adjust the diameter of the globe, the space for the fan, and the space for the headers. Let's hope all goes well this time around!!

Printing out the case now.

also I had to change the eink spacing since i'm using my own!

Yup, this won't be able to be a t3, t4 at most.

Finished Code, Uploaded Everything To GitHub
The code I've been working on whenever I need to take a break from modeling or writing the README, but it's done now. I've additionally uploaded all of my KiCad and CAD source files (which took like 30 minutes to export for some reason) to the repository.
IT'S TIME TO SUBMIT!!!

Finished BOM, Prepared GitHub
This is pretty self-explanatory, but I finished the BOM.csv and added a few changes to my README, as well as setting up my folder structure. Next up is adding all the files and double checking everything - but I think I'm pretty much good to go!

Finished README.md
You're not going to believe me when I say that this took two hours, but I guarantee you that it did. I've been working on this nonstop since my last journal post, and my README is about 10 pages long...

That's all, thanks! :D

Finished Case And Created Assembled Mockups
This is mostly going to be an image dump, but the case is fully done! I think there's not much more to do CAD-wise, so I'm going to be creating the repo and then working on some software. Cheers!

First Blueprint Post Of The Year!
Literally writing this at 12:03 AM, proof:

Anyways, the CAD design is mostly finished, I'll make a top plate tomorrow and get an assembled version for the repo.

Started CAD Design!
Starting off well with a sketch of the base, I want this CAD to be as polished as physically possible! I've found 3d models of all the components I'll be using and will integrate them as well.

Routed The PCB!
It has been done, I've routed and optimized the PCB and I think this is pretty much my final revision - I added a touch pad in lieu of things to add to the GPIOs!

Finished Schematic, Assigned Footprints
It has been done, I replaced my useless header with an E-INK screen that I think will fit quite well, and added a temp/humi sensor for measurements!!!

Began The Schematic
The grand wiring has begun. After a few hours of thinking (which are obviously not included in the total reported time), I started a schematic. Let's see how it improves from here!

Initial Brainstorming And Research
Christmas has come and gone, and yet the Blueprint Christmas Competition has just begun! I really wanted to make a laser projector counting down to the new year, but kleigh said rizzmas projects only, so here we are! I saw a snow globe in a bookstore recently and thought to myself, WHY DOES THIS NOT HAVE AN APP YET?! Very good question. It's time to make a smart snow globe. I'm going to be using a SEEED ESP-32-S3 that I already own, as well as quite a few 3d printed parts; I hope to keep external costs to a minimum. More about this project can be found in the description!
