1/5/2026 3 PM - researching

ok firstly i wanted to do a 3d printer but i think that it is a lot more difficult and because in 18th i enter to school i think a pen plotter would be a lot better and it will be very usefull, i want it to be very fast and precise so i started researching and searching for inspiration and i found some ways to do pen plotters but i think i will do something like this:

and i also watched some youtube videos

so i think i will need

two NEMA17
driver for the motor
two aluminium frames
servo for the pen
arduino uno
screws
2020 aluminum extrusions
linear rails

i also want to do it fastly because ill enter to school and i will dont have that much time as now so i think i will spend five hours day or more

1/5/2026 9 PM - first bom

i decided to use a controller with esp32 and fluidnc instead of arduino because it is more faster and powerful, and i need to have a controller with the esp integrated in it, because i didnt found any cnc shields made for esp32, fluidnc and two axis
and i have this bom

i was researching and i found that it will be easier and better to change one mgn12 with this

and i searched on grabcad the models that i needed and uploaded them

and after that i started building the pen plotter on fusion
