The firefighting robot is a compact, portable prototype designed to tackle small indoor fires and serve as a proof-of-concept for low-cost, rapid-response robotics. Built on a lightweight chassis with skid or caster drive, it combines thermal and flame sensors with ultrasonic/IR obstacle avoidance to locate hot spots while navigating cluttered environments. A small onboard pump and nozzle deliver water or foam from a detachable reservoir, and the system supports both remote manual control and a semi-autonomous mode that approaches the detected flame and applies extinguishing agent while maintaining safe distance. Powered by rechargeable batteries and protected by mechanical and software safety interlocks, the robot is optimized for demonstrations, educational use, and quick interventions inside buildings — it’s not intended for road use or large-scale industrial fires.
