Hey! Couple things:

  • Please add more effort! Currently this feels a little simple, try adding automatic opening!!! I also recc switching to onshape.
  • Additionally, please polish the readme. check submission reqs for a reminder of everything that should be there. Remember: frame the readme for the world to see, not as a submission. The "cart" does not have to be in the readme
  • The step here, which is stl to step, is not suffecient. Please model this in onshape or fusion!
  • we cant give you a shipping grant for every project, this can be greatly reduced by shipping togther. All requirements could be found at https://blueprint.hackclub.com/about/submission-guidelines, feel free to ping me in #blueprint-drafts if you have a question :)

Scale adjusting

So I just realised my scale was off so i had to quickly calculate how much that was it was 6.28535512 times bigger, so adjusted it and am now reuploading everything to github and such.

Final touches & spinning thing and tube

So I made a small cylinder (smaller then the thing on top) and made it tube through this cylinder and the thing on top so you can attach everything and also remove it if needed. FYI the tube is a bit smaller then the hole so the spinning thing can move freely.

Thinking of the tube actually took some time and advice, I even asked in the blueprint channel but didn't help so had to come up with this myself.

The thing on top of the trash can so I can attach something

So I needed to put something on top of the trash can so I could attach something on it. My first instinct was to use another cylinder and make it hole, I thought 2 birds one stone. I was sooo wrong. It didn't align properly and I couldn't figure out, so I stopped for the day and when to sleep. The next day i came on and realised I could use a ring which would fix my hole problem so I would just have to use a smaller cylinder to make the thing I'll attach to it later.

I realized that in this picture I already made the hole for the tube but that is for later.

Trash can base modeling

Firstly I started by making a cylinder and second smaller cylinder and made it hole and grouped it. After I took a cylinder made it smaller tilted it a little and duplicated it on top of each other and grouped it so it would make the base cylinder tilted at the top.
