Hii! Please make sure your project is fitting all the submissions requirements (https://blueprint.hackclub.com/about/submission-guidelines). For one, you should have images of your project in your README. Your project needs to be shipped, which means that anyone can look at your repository, tell what it is, how to build it themselves, and how to use it. After you fix these to fit the requirements, be sure to re-submit. Another reviewer will take a closer look!

Checking and estimating

I’m actually pretty happy with how it turned out

My total came out to exactly $105,02, which is a pretty solid price for a small project like this.

I just hope the reviewers don’t complain that I’m ordering parts from a few different stores, but that’s just how it works in Europe. Unless they expect me to order capacitors in bulk from Digi-Key like they wanted, lol.

Made BOM

From what I’ve learned on Blueprint, it’s always worth putting together a solid BOM.csv, so that’s what I’m doing.

At the beginning, it looked like this:

image

The β€œIn CART” section is how I track whether I’ve already found and selected the components. Unfortunately, there’s a bit of a challenge here β€” some of the parts are from Digi-Key, and others are from AliExpress because I couldn’t find everything in one place.

IMPORTANT!!!! : Also, since I’m based in Europe, I don’t always have access to the same suppliers or pricing as in the US. So reviewers, please keep that in mind β€” that’s the reason the shipping cost is relatively high + i didnt find components on aliexpres.

Completion of the PCB

I have finished the PCB. Below, I’m sharing how the completed PCB looks, along with a 3D image. I won’t be adding any enclosure because, honestly, there’s no need. The PCB looks cool on its own. I just hope no one focuses on the capacitors, haha.

Routing the Traces

In this not last stage, I worked on routing the traces. It went pretty well overall. I hope no one goes crazy when they see the line lengths, but as I've mentioned before, I'm not creating a LoRa puck that will service space stations, lol.

It went quite smoothly, but it took me about two days with breaks, haha.

(yes im using 4 layers but used only two but im doing this like in the tutorial)

Setting Up the PCB Layout

In the next stage, I focused on arranging the PCB layout to ensure that the RF modules do not operate close to the MCU. Of course, I won't be doing this like a pro since it's just a basic LoRa module, so reviewers, please don't nitpick everything.

ajv4ec

Nothing will happen if the module has some errors, and instead of, for example, working at 10 kilometers, it runs at 9, lol. I also had to change 0900FM15D0039001E to 0900FM15K0039001E because I’m European, and the frequency bands allowed in Europe are different from those in the USA.

I'm ready for routing.

Made Schematic

At this stage, I focused on creating the schematic. Using the tutorial on our site, I practically did the same thing but added LEDs, fulfilling the guideline I set for myself. So please don't criticize that.

Before diving into the project, I wanted to understand what I was doing, as many people copy projects thoughtlessly.
