pcb stuff
forgot to add an update here but i drew the schematic. just used labels for everything since it's cleaner and more readable.
i also routed the pcb and it's god awful routing but it works.

change of idea
it's been a while since i worked on this. i decided to shift away from a 60% and instead go with a steno keyboard since i want to make a 60-80% later as an HE keeb. this is the layout i'm tentatively planning:
i'm happy with the key count for now but i might end up changing some sizes in the future.

research
spent a bit of time looking at existing 60%'s and used them to help make this one. most of it is standard except for the inclusion of the extra keys in the hop layer and using the caps lock key to switch between the two layers. the spacebar is also split since that should allow me to use the space as a modifier key if i press both at the same time.
