Conceptualizing AUXI’s Core System

So, apart from the list of parts that I did in my other entry, I took about two and a half hours figuring out how they would communicate to each other.
And like I said, I didn't have too much experience with hardware, so I was really just doing a lot of research and figuring out what each part does. And then I figured out how the parts would communicate between the app and the printer and how the printing would work.
Like I said before, I would use heat-based printing, but the challenge was keeping it simple but so smart. So, I mapped out the Bluetooth pairing flow, how the printer would break on signal, and like the basic power circuits. I didn't finalize the board yet, but the structure finally makes sense in my head.

So, yeah, ### Auxi might actually start working sooner than I thought.

Key Components

This is that thing I said was like the sister to my other project; Ekho. Auxi uses a mini thermal printer and ESP32 (for Bluetooth and Wi-Fi) and has a 3d printed shell. Basically it's internal structure is:

  • Printer module near the top
  • Battery pack beneath it
  • ESP32 board and TP4056 side-by-side
  • Power button accessible externally

and probably more as i progress.

The concept is more or less the same with that of the printer of a Point Of Sle(POS) machine, only that the slips are sticky note themed and decorated.<!-- Upload failed: AUXI.png -->AUXI
