Modular Usb Authenticator
This is going to be a project to develop a secure (at least to the extent of my abilities) usb authenticator without batteries that meets the fido 2 standard, authenticating using a fingerprint sensor and, as an alternative, a keyboard

Established some more details on how to implement
So far (If Its possible to do so, obviously) I want to connect the fingerprint module and the keyboard module using jst connectors, both because theyre small and because theyre another level of security because someone who finds it not have any method to trigger authentication with the authenticator alone (as it does not contain any peripherals itself)
Two modules so far;
The fingerprint module will contain locally something to authenticate with the authenticator that it is the genuine module connected to it,
The second module being a simple connection to usb and serial adapter of sorts to get text inputs.
Also the minimum image requirement for the updates are kind of hard for me as of now as I have justbegun so heres an image of a jst connector:

First time research
Ive always wanted an authenticator to be honest, so i believe this project will be a fun way to learn some stuff in both cad, software design and pcb design but also the authenticator I will be using as well.
So far Im going to be looking at open source authenticator projects to get an understanding of how stuff works and how I can implement them.
Apart from that, the things I am sure of is that Im going to design a case for it with a whole to attach to my keychain, a possible cap for the usb tip, and that it should be connected using usb-c as it would make the connection to my phone that much simpler.
Im going to start with the Open sk key by Google.
