Rishi's Hackpad
My hackpad I'm making to learn the basics of KiCAD and PCB Creation. The basis of this PCB is to be simplistic and calming. The firmware I have attached to the Github is supposed to switch tabs and workspaces on my laptop, making it easier to manage my ongoing tasks and be more productive! It is a custom macropad (one of the projects defined to be tier 4). Thanks to the help of the Hack Club reviewers I was able to find a better PCB vendor to bring the cost down to ~$16!

Hey - Great work on this, this looks like a relly cool hackpad. Can you add some images of your completed build to your github repo readme please before this can be approved! Other than that it looks all good so you're almost there!!

Hackpad
Submitted the full project after testing, print quality is still questionable but it's working great. Looks like I am done with this project for now :)

Soldering and Testing
Working on soldering LED’s onto board, switches and XIAO completed. These LED’s are so tiny it’s actually super hard to solder, I already broke a few :/
I tested it and so far only one switch works, the other three won’t work until I solder the LED on properly. Hopefully I can get helping hands with tickets.
Case also finished printing and I just need to put the keycaps and case back on when I’m done, though I’ll probably only be able to fit 2 screws in because my print quality is questionable.
It’s not letting me include a video from my phone so just pretend you saw the code working for now

Received everything!!
Now the plan is to fix the CAD, and solder everything while the case is printing :)
I’ll probably do it this weekend!!!
The CAD needs to be modified to the PCB’s new size because I had to fix some things before sending it to JLCPCB.

Hi, this is still really expensive for a MacroPad PCB is there anyway you can use a different PCB manufacturer such as JLCPCB instead for lower costs?

We provide a kit with all of the parts, you only need to upload cart screenshots of your PCB cart page.
