A couple of changes

Just needed to fix up a couple things. The picture above is just one thing I needed to fix. I changed my readme, BOM, and dimensions of my parts. I think I got everything this time.

One thing - you need to add a BOM.csv that lists all of your parts that you'll buy! (Name of item, price of it, and link of where you're buying it from)

You don't seem to have an assembly if you need one you could try creates "beams in CAD to match the dimensions of the real one's the build it together!\

Work that I should have shown sooner

I admit that I haven't been posting recently but I was putting 110% into this next design. I changed the way the corners looked, added new parts, and surprisingly clinched everything under $25. I am really excited for this project. This is easily better than my hackpad.

no. you can see the tier 5 budget limits yourself but its up to 25 usd. you can submit again as tier 5 but that would be your limit :( I would suggest adding complexity

Reworking and Submission

Screenshot 2025-12-25 170403

I changed my format in my repo a little bit to add the extra 3d printed part I needed. I will be getting all these 3d printed parts for free. This helps a lot because it decreases the amount of money I need. All I did in this hour is just some final tweaking. I tried to keep it under the tier 5 category but all the items I needed were about to lose their Christmas discount. I hope I set the price low enough.

Reworking and surprise

PXL_20251224_214422373.MP

I found out that I had some tent poles in my garage that could be used for the goal. That will cut down my cost by around $25. I am reworking my onshape models to fit this. Also I am still looking for parts. The discount on temu is gone so I don't think I can get the items in time.

Hi, this is cool, but it's only a Tier 5 project at best. You're 3d printing two parts, you have no electronic components, PCBs, or hardware at all, and the only thing you're getting with your grant is poles and a net (that could be a bit cheaper). I like the idea, thuogh!

Please try to find part for a cheaper price on aliexpress or temu

Github and final tweaks

I have finally finished my project. Some things I added was additional width to the poles. When I was creating my predicted model, I realized it needed more support. For that reason, I added more width. This project was honestly way more fun than I initially expected. Thank you hack club for the opportunity

Onshape and budgeting

It was really hard keeping everything in the CAD right and finding the right materials for my budget. For the CAD I would constantly run into different problems when I thought about them in my head. Because the materials I am trying to get don't have the right dimensions, I have to pick and choose mine. Furthermore, when I was finding the right materials I had to go over my budget to get the right quality and quantity. I have resorted to paying 10$ from my end. This took way too long.

Final brainstorm and making 3d model

PXL_20251212_012404417
The final brainstorm where the entire 3d model ideas is (mostly) complete. I am thinking on adding holes to the openings that hold the middle bars so they can hold it securely.

Tweaking and Onshape

Working on the CAD now and I am applying changes that I wouldn't have thought off without the CAD. I have had a 3d printed piece from Hackclub before and it was pretty solid for it being less than an inch. This time, my item will be 3 inches so I am excited to see how strong it will be.

More brainstorming and math😞

PXL_20251210_032355629

I changed the structure on how I made the goal. Originally I had two bars that made a shape of an L. This was a bad idea as it would be really flimsy and would get knocked down easily. I changed it to a sideways <. Also I came up with an idea for the 3d printed section.

Brainstorming ideas on how to make the net and finding parts

PXL_20251209_040252843

Found all the links for the net. Now I just need to work on the CAD and 3d printing sections. I am still thinking on if my structure is right though. My example is a forza net that is 16ft by 7ft. I originally wanted it to be the same dimensions but I couldn't find a pipe cheap enough.
