Note for the review (filament reimbursment)

Just after i shipped this project, i realize i needed to apply for the filament reimbursment, i asked in the slack, and they told me to include it in the build review, but i had already send it to review, so im just making this little note, my project used more than 250g using 5 percent gyroid infill

Update the readme.md + create instructions!

Once i finished everything, now i wanted to make it actually pretty, and what better way to do it that with a custom made instruction manual, and with some illustrator, and patience i managed to organize all the file structure and create the manual!

Re asseble the lamp + make pretty instructions!!!!

Soo turns the led strip from the lamp decided to gave up and fall, so i have to reasamble the hole thing, and this time i took better pictures to make the process more easy for u guysss

Step 1

Cut and glue parchemnt paper on the back of each panel

Step 2

Glue the stip to the cylinder like in the picture

Step 3

Assemble and glue the 4 legs and the bottom frame

Put the cylinder into the 4 legs and the frame

Step 5

Attach and glue the top frame,

Step 6

Glue the panels to the frame, I started with the top panel, and from there attach every panel until there are no more left

Conect the light and enjoy your new kumiko lamp!!!!!

Assemble the lamp!!!!

So once the led strip from aliexpress finally arrived, it was time to assemble the lamp!!!, so turns out my design was actually gud, meaning that all snap in place, and with a bit of glue, and time, everything was assembled

steps:

Glue a piece of parchment paper to the back of each panel

Glue the strip to the cylinder just like in the picture

connect the 4 legs, to the bottom base

connect the top case to the 4 legs

Finish the lamp!

for this last part of the build, i just glued the panels to the frame, and just like this you can assemble your kumiko lamp youself!

Explaining the design process

well since in my first journal i just created the final product, im gonna take a couple minutes describing the desing process of this lamp, so, the main idea of making this lamp came from youtube videos of people making jumiko lamps made out of wood, and since i dont have any wood working suplies rather 3d printing suplies, i challenged myself to do a 3d printed kumiko lamp, so the lamp has 4 main pieces, the columns, the panels, the thing to put hte led strip, and the frames for the panels, the, first i started out doing the top and bottom frame, this being the part that took less time to do, once i had the bottom frame, i just copy, elevated 20cm and paste it, for the colums, it was just to make a rectangle, extrude it and cut the negative part of the frames, then the most chalenging part was making the panels perce, i started searching in google types of kumiko patterns until i founded one that i really liked, so i tried replicating it into fusion just as a 2d sketch, then i had to do some fancy math (add and divide) to figure out the size each singel piece of pattern had to be, and with that out of the way, it was just time to more copy and pasting, rotating, adding the textures

Printed the pieces!!

Todays work was to print the pieces, with some help of the drafting teacher and some brown filament, he helped me print the panels (it was just an excuse to test the insane quality print of the h2d the school just got) so 1 buildplate later, and 4 hours, it was printed, now it was just time for me to get home and print the black supports, my elegoo centauri carbon doenst fall behind on quality, giving also insane quality prints, now im gonna glue the special paper, and wait for the people to aprove my grant buy the led and mount it, the lamp is turning out so great

sou i noticed a mistake just before printing, so turns out that the tube where the light holds was way to small, and since i already printed the base that was gonna hold it, i hooped into fusion, change the thickness of just the part the strip was gonna be mounted on, and it was done, slice it again, and send print!

Test print and rezising the proyect

Todays job expectation was to start printing, but once i was gonna send it all out, i realize something very important, it was gonna take almost 1kg of filament (thing that isn't ideal) so after some playing around with it, i resize it using orca slicer tool, making use only 250 grams!! (just in the weight for the filament reimbursment) so after this i hopped into fusion and make sure the tolerance in between my parts didnt shrink too, thing that unfortunaley happened, so after a bit more design and trail an error, i send the first tolerance print, while on i commented this proyect to my electronics teacher, and he said he had some pp matte sheets that can difuminate the light really well, so thats one thing less i have to worry about

And after 11 minutes and 5 grams of filament, it was done, and the tolerance in fact works, making it tight fit, but not to tight, making possible for assemble

now i just need to buy the led strip, and print all of my panels!

Design it in fusion 360

The other day I was scroling through youtube, and i founded something that really catched my eye, it was a kumiko lamp, from what I understood, kumiko is a japanesse technique of woodworking that allows you to create incredible patterns, so once inspired, I hopped into fusion and started modeling the lamp, the start was easy, just the top and bottom base, which came along very nicely, then it was turn for the supports, which took a bit more of effort, and finally the most technical part of this build, the kumiko pattern, I chose the Asa no ha pattern and with some math to figure out the grid size, it was doneee
