Hey, this project is really cool but it's more of a tier 3-4 as it does not contain ANY electronic components, or custom molds for items to place inside, or any technical complexity, really. Additionally, it's technically a 1-to-1 copy of an existing 30" case that you just modeled in CAD - could you add some of the above to make this way more complex, or resubmit as 4?

repo + plans
So I have created two PDF files for the production of the wooden panels and their cutouts or dimensions and exported them as PDFs from Fusion.

Then I made the repo organized and created the readme and the bom.csv files. hope this project gets accepted as it is, my goal is to build the case as fast as possible to use it in January for the musical at our school.

So, here I am again. Tomorrow is the last exam, and then I'm fully locked into blueprinting. (I've been saying this since the last three exams, but this time I really mean it, the holidays are finally starting!) I've started with the aluminum rails, the corner pieces, and the L-brackets for the lid. Things got interesting after that.

I've modeled and inserted the second profile for the closure. Not exciting, but a step towards completing this project.

Then it was on to modeling and planning the system for the partitions. I thought the slots could be easily 3D printed. They were simple and quick to design, these slots can be used with 10mm wooden partitions and, of course, made as long or short as the specific case requires.

It continued with the handles, the butterfly closure, the holder for opening the lid, and notches for the wheels so that the case can be stacked in the end.

Then I inserted the cutouts for the butterfly closures and removed the rails accordingly.

The same applies to the locking mechanism for opening the lid.

Of course, handles were added on both sides and notches for the wheels.

Finally, I added the wheels again, but this time only as a net so my computer wouldn't freak out.

So I'd say the case is fully modeled. After the last exam, I'll create the PDF drawings in Fusion 360 so that people can easily recreate this case, or rather so that I can build it in the first place. Then the BOM, the README, and the repository structure still need to be adjusted before I can submit this project.
I will do that in the next days or hopefully tomorrow.

So, I just started the day before yesterday. It's like everything in life, you just start and then everything takes its course. First, I built two walls so that the inside dimensions are 600mm.

From that, I built a box and then covered it with 30mm x 30mm aluminum profiles. I also added these balls for the corners to the project.

I don't even know why anymore, but then I added wheels, which I think was absolutely perfect in retrospect, since they are exactly from the 3D model as offered on the Thomann website, but this caused my computer to lag so extremely that I had to remove the wheels until the end of the project.

First, I changed the rendering to reflect real wood, and then using the black that the case will eventually be, I modeled and added the profiles for the lid's closure. Finally, I fitted the corners with custom-made L-brackets to give the whole thing more stability.

I just realized I took a lot of screenshots during the process, here's a close-up view of the closure thing.

Then I continued with the lid, and here too I initially just assembled it from the wood so that we would end up with a height of 600mm. So the internal dimensions are 600mm x 600mm x 600mm.

That's it for day 1 of the project, it's already much too late again so I'll write the rest tomorrow.

idea
So I'm sorry but I started this project two days ago, but exams kept me from writing anything. Let's start with my idea:
I do volunteer work at school and elsewhere, providing technical support for small events, and I'm always lugging around a lot of equipment. For a long time, I've wanted to build a case, or a rack whatever you want to call it, to safely transport things like cables, adapters, a mixing console, spotlights, and other gear. I built most of the equipment myself and I really don't want anything to get damaged (obviously, I do not have the money for it).
The following requirements must be met:
- 600mm width to accommodate an analog mixer
- Dividers must fit and be adjustable
- Stackable to allow for future expansion and easier storage
- Casters with brakes are essential
- Handles of course
- Use Thomann because the price is right and the quality is unbeatable
- Made of wood, preferably plywood
I checked, and 7 panels cost around €125. According to my calculations, that's enough to build the entire rack...

I'll end this post here for now and issue a warning for the day before yesterday and yesterday.
