1Wheel
Im making a DIY One Wheel that's hopefully less expensive than a commercial one, while being more powerful and more fun. Im planning a 600w Hub Motor which should give plenty of power

Researched Parts
I spent some time today researching parts to use for this onewheel. I found a company (spintend) that sells full kits of parts (hub motor, esc, foot pads, and some other various parts) that would help greatly with the parts selection for this build.
Mechanically, one wheels are fairly simple: a motor connected to an esc connected to a battery, all in a frame with some foot pads for controlling speed. Im a bit worried about the software part of this, but there are some open source options for controlling the one wheel.
There are a ton of different wheel options, 600-800w, which are good for some fun riding around, all the way up to 4000w, which is meant for off-road. unfortunately yhose 4000w motors are incredibly dangerous, so I won't be using them for this build. Ill probably end up going with a 600w model.
