TEDS RP2040

Based off the EasyRP2040 guided project. Should be suitable as a drop-in pico replacement (GPIO pins have same pinouts, with a few extra GPIO outputs) Also has an LED using the last free GPIO

Great work with all the changes! Approved.

Added an LED

I added an SK6812 MINI LED. Why this LED? Well its used in the hackpad and I think it is cool, especially since you can change the colour. I did have to do a bit of rerouting, which is why it took me 30m+ (just recording 30)

Also ignore the headers being the wrong way... I am not going to place them on JLCPCB.
I would add something else but all of the GPIO is taken up. Whoops.

Hi! You need a README.md file with screenshots of your projects different views and descriptions of why and how you made it to qualify :) Additionally, your current devboard seems to be a direct copy of the tutorial - add a few parts of your own! For example, I added an LED and a temperature sensor to mine. There's almost no limit on what you can add!! Keep it up!

Submit?

Can someone also check over if it will work / make properly as I have no clue...
I am about to submit the design review so I am just leaving this note here.

Here are images showing the costs from JLCPCB. Hopefully they don't add weird costs and that this is enough.

Added Silk Screen

Added a simple silk screen. I got the TEDS text by importing an SVG of the text. I then added the rest of the text and copy and pasted it onto both sides.

Routed the PCB

image

FINALLY ROUTED! I completely rerouted the whole PCB and made it a lot more neat. I had to use a different footprint / flash chip as the TR version had to be preordered from JLCPCB and needed a minimum order of 17. The larger flash footprint did not make things easier...

However I did lower the tolerances in the settings slightly as the USB port slightly extended a bit too much, however, I don't think it should be an issue... but who knows! Time to make it look cool with a silkscreen.

PCB... I GIVE UP (for now)

THIS IS A MESS. my dumbass got very confused and decided to seperate all of the 3v and 1v things, just to realise i need all of them connected... I quit... for now...

Created the Schematic

image

Based on the Custom Devboard guide, I created the schematic for the devboard. This involved placing components (RP2040, Crystal Oscillator, USB-C Receptacle, Headers etc.)

In the guide, they shifted some of the I/O pins up (the ADC Pins) to make room for the other GPIO Pins. However, to maintain better compatibility with Pico based projects, I instead just placed the other GPIO pins above the ADC pins. This may not be a great idea, but hopefully I don't regret it.
