Alr pretty much finalized parts and started schematic

As the title suggests, I pretty much finished the parts, changed arround a lot of the parts for "lower power" variants to try to hit <250g because >250g there are a lot more regulations and stuff. Decided that instead of the NRF, I will use esp-now but with a specific esp-32 that supports the ufl connector. This in turn allows me to have more control but I will have to develop a protocol to both send out video over wifi through the antanee and the esp-now based control. More research

I did more research and ended up deciding that the RemoteID is like non-negotiable because it is litterally illegal if I do not use it. Anyway, it is quite pricey at $25 for the absolute cheapest module, and I decided that I will cover that. For the GPS module however, that is required on the drone. I decided to order ALL my parts for the pcb from digikey now that I need to get a gps module. Apparently I can save on shipping if i do digikey.

Update: that means that the price for the other parts like ressistors would go up a bit if we do digikey. might look for a comparison between the digikey and the lcsc part costs

Started BOM and research

As the title states, I looked for the parts that I would need to use and drafted an overall plan on how to do this project! Decided on:

nRF24L01+PA+LNA based transciever, but custom built onto the pcbs.

MEPS NEON 2306 2550KV - 4 pack for 39.60 (pretty cheap for really good motors)

50A 4 in 1 ESC

and a few other parts

Oh yea, starting the PCB soon!

Update:
Did a lot of research on the legalities of such drones in the US and realized that I would need to both register it and get a certified remote id module. asked in blueprint support and got no response so I am going to ignore that for now Screenshot 2026-01-05 211826
