Blueprint

Wireless Split Keyboard attachment

This is my first Hackclub/Blueprint project and my first time creating a pcb. However I want to start big and create a custom split keyboard. I also plan to print an extension so I can attach it to my arm and use it without a desk.

First Steps: Downloading KiCad and created Starting Sketch

I downloaded KiCad for the first time. Downloading the it for the first time wasn't too difficult and I was able to create my first sketches. The difficult part was installing the XIAO libraries to use the footprints of their chips. I spent a solid 30 minutes looking for the library since it wasn't in any of the tutorials but I was able to find it in this link: https://wiki.seeedstudio.com/SeeedStudio_XIAO_Series_Introduction/. Once I had everything created I just started experimented with KiCad and started experimenting with the software. I also decided on the type of keyboard layout I wanted (Image below). I started designing the pcb of my keyboard based on the tutorial but I'm going to change it a lot more.

I haven't started designing a case or an attachment method for the keyboard but I'm planning to use velcro straps and 3Dprints to keep it as cheap as possible.

My current design/layout:
